There were just eight weeks between The Celebrity Traitors final and the new fourth season of The Traitors, but a new Traitors series is already on the way.
If you need your Traitors fix on the days of the week when the Claudia Winkleman-hosted gameshow isn’t on the air, this might be the perfect solution for you.
Coming to BBC One on January 24 will be The Traitors Ireland, hosted by Derry Girls star Siobhan McSweeney, which aired on RTÉ One last year.
The first episode will drop at midnight on January 24, just hours after the winner of The Traitors season four is crowned, with the final episode of the UK series landing on January 23.
Despite the difference in name and presenter, the rules of The Traitors Ireland are 99% the same, much like the other international versions on TV.
’24 players face off in Ireland’s ultimate murder mystery game,’ reads the synopsis for the series, which was originally broadcast on Irish TV in August 2025.

Among the group of 24 will be three Traitors, who are – as always – aiming to make it to the end of the game undetected while the number of contestants dwindles each week.
The Faithfuls, meanwhile, have got to keep adding to the prize pot while hoping to root out all of the Traitors in their midst; otherwise they risk losing the money altogether.

One big difference is in the prize money – while the current contestants on The Traitors are aiming to win up to £120,000, the winner of The Traitors Ireland will win a maximum prize of €50,000 (£43,000).

The series was announced in early 2024, while Siobhan McSweeney was confirmed as host in December of that year. Filming took place in mid-2025.

According to figures reported by Irish publication The Journal, it broke into the top 10 for TV shows in Ireland in 2025, with more than 800,000 viewers, on average.
That means around 15% of Ireland’s population tuned in to watch, which would be equivalent to 10.5million viewers if the show had been broadcast in the UK.
The BBC will certainly be hoping for those kinds of numbers when The Traitors Ireland begins broadcasting in the UK in a couple of weeks.
